GeoVista have recently released a tri-axial, down-hole geophone sensor. Working together with the interest of our clients, the monitoring geophones can be used for long term seismic recording in shallow wells. A three axis geophone is lowered into a shallow well and analogue measurements are measured over time. These geophones are generally deployed as part of a field array of geophones connected to a central database for long term monitoring.
The probe can come with a bow spring to couple the sensor to the side of the bore-hole wall. The geophone can be left in the well, cemented over or kept to be used when needed.
Clients have the freedom to choose the sensitivity of the geophone sensor and can customize the geophone for their specific applications.
